ARTIST RESIDENCE

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Palawa (Tasmanian Aboriginal) people as the Traditional Owners of Lutruwita (Tasmania). We remember and honour their Elders, past and present and Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the continuing custodians of the rich cultural heritage of Lutruwita.

We are offering writers, photographers and analogue film makers to come and visit us in Lutruwita (Tasmania) as artist in residence. The accomodation is on the ground floor of our house and has a full set up darkroom attached to the downstairs studio accomodation in Blackmans Bay (20 min bus ride south of Hobart). It has its own bathroom and access to the garden. We invite artist to work/exhibit in our NY style studio in the CBD of Hobart and appreciate if the artist(s) in residence connects with the local community by either offering a workshop, develop a community project or perhaps gives an artist talk, but its not a condition. The residency is between 1 - 4 weeks. We are happy to assist with travels around the island and at times give people tours on request.

The Studio

The studio is a 100sqm studio on the 3rd floor of an old warehouse building in the CBD of Hobart. There are 3 pulldown backgrounds (black, white and grey) and a separate mobile background holder and Studio lights available. There are digital and overhead projectors as well as 8/16mm projectors.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more or maybe you have a creative project.
